Illinois New Principal Mentoring Program

New Principals

The Illinois New Principal Mentoring Program exists to help new principals thrive in their first year in administration and beyond. Starting with the 2007-2008 school year, each new principal is to be mentored by a proven, highly-trained educational leader. Only those individuals who were assistant principals the previous five years in the school district they become principal are exempt from the mentoring requirement.
